With the first look, motion poster and the fun-loving trailer featuring the lead pair Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, Badhaai Do managed to open on low note in the morning with occupancy of just 5% across India. The comedy drama could collect Rs 1.65 crore on its first day at the box office. However, there was a solid growth on Saturday with around 65%, minting a good Rs 2.72 crore.

As per early trade report, Badhaai Do had shown yet another growth with Rs 30%, collecting around Rs 3.5 crore, bringing the first weekend collection to Rs 7.87 crore. Badhaai Do is still facing the challenge of night shows not being in all states except Maharashtra , Rajasthan and South which affected the collections. The budget of comedy drama  is Rs 45 Crores all-inclusive  this is higher (Production cost: 35 Crores including interest cost, Advertising Cost: 10 Crores) and has released in 2000 cinemas across all India
