Directed by the legendary film-maker Kundan Shah (Jaani Bhi Do Yaaron), Kya Kehna was probably one of the most talked about films of the year 2000. 2000 was the year when most of expensive films were failing but Kya Kehna dared to cross the path and turned out to be the surprise hit of the year. Kudos to Preity Zinta for her yet another mind-blowing performance. Anupam Kher, Saif Ali Khan, Chnadrachur Singh and Fardia Jalal provided adequate support with their good performances.
Kya Kehna collected a solid Rs 12.17 crore against a budget of Rs 4 crore, turning out to be “Super-Hit” at the box office.

Hindi Medium (2017)
Even though the hype and support by the media was towards the more expensive Half Girlfriend, Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium shocked and surprised everyone with its beautiful content. Directed by Saket Chaudhary, who earlier made hilarious films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Hindi Medium showed the ground reality of school admission issues in India. The movie started slow at the ticket window but picked up later with an amazing speed and collected a massive Rs 63.06 crores against a budget of Rs 23 crores, turning into “Super-Hit”.

Based on the novel written by Chetan Bhagat, Mohit Suri directed Half Girlfriend had all the hype, excitement, star cast and tuneful music to make it a blockbuster. However, what it lacked was a suitable content to get the proper appreciation by the audience. Result turned out disaster for the Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film which finally ended being an “Below Average”, minting Rs 52 crores against a budget of Rs 58 crores.
