Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi finally brings cheers to both audience and the makers as it registered an excellent first weekend collections. Thanks to the solid user reviews as per Book My Show and good promo, the biopic drama collected a solid Rs 10.50 crore making it the second best opening for a women centric film after Veere Di Wedding (Rs 10.70 crore). The earning shot up on Saturday with Rs 13.32 crore.

As per early trade report, the collection went up again with somewhere between Rs 15.60-15.0 crore from 3500 screens, bringing the first weekend total to around Rs  40 crore. The budget of the biopic drama is estimated to be around Rs 55 crore. It has also become the highest opening film of Alia Bhatt beating Raazi which collected Rs 7.53 crore. Gangubai Katthiawasi is based on the real-life events about the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favor. After working together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are coming together for the second film, Gangubai Kathiawadi. This will also mark the reunion of Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 22 years.

Valimai 1st Day Box Office – Ajith Starrer Becomes The Highest Opening Film In Tamil Nadu

The Ajith starrer Valimai took a solid opening of Rs 26 crore on its first day in Tamil Nadu easily beating the previous record held by Rajnikanth starrer Annaatthe which collected Rs 24 crore on a holiday. Though it dropped on the second day with Rs 11.60 crore, the collections went up again on third day with Rs 16.85 crore. As per early estimate, the Sunday collections were around 19 crore, bringing the four days total to around 80 crore.

Pawan Kalyan starrer Bheemla Nayak shattered all the box office records with an opening of Rs 36 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. There was a drop on the second day with Rs 19.73 crore but still the collections were above 20 crore figure to Rs 20.50-21 crore on Sunday, bringing the 3 days total to a staggering 77-78 crore
