Rajinikanth starrer ‘Jailer’ saw a massive success at the box office with a worldwide collection of more than Rs 598 crore despite the clash of other hit Hindi films Sunny Deol's ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’.
Earning a blockbuster hit, Jailer’s producer and CEO of Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maaran gave a profit-sharing cheque to Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar by visiting their residences. And as per the trade analyst. Manobala Vidyabalan the producer has handed over a cheque worth Rs 100 crores. For the unversed, he also gifted a whopping worth Rs 1.24 crore BMW x7 car to Thalaivar.
On X account, a trade analyst wrote, “Info coming in that, the envelope handed over by Kalanithi Maran to superstar Rajinikanth contains a single cheque amounting ₹100 crore from City Union Bank, Mandaveli branch, Chennai. This is a Jailer profit sharing cheque, which is up and above the already paid remuneration [ ₹110 crore] of the superstar for the movie. Total – ₹210 crore. Making superstar Rajinikanth the highest paid actor in India.”
Producer Gifts Gold Coins To 300 Crew Members
And on the success event that happened on Sunday in Chennai, the producer Kalanithi Maaran has now gifted gold coins to more than 300 crew members who have worked for ‘Jailer’. Sharing this gesture on the official account of Sun Pictures on social media, the caption read, “

‘Jailer’ stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, alongside Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. It was held by Nelson Dilipkumar and backed by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, which hit the theatres on 10 August 2023.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth will be next seen in an extended cameo in his daughter Aishwaryaa’s upcoming film, ‘Lal Salaam’ and his next full-fledged film is helmed by the director TJ Gnanavel of ‘Jai Bhim’ fame.
