"I wonder how much this moron will pay." said text messages between Chavez and Plasencia over the price of drugs. Authorities reported that Plasencia purchased the drug from Chavez, which was then injected into Perry by his live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. Chavez pleaded guilty under the agreement that he would receive lesser charges for his assistance in their case against Plasencia and Sangha. Matt Binninger, Chavez's attorney, said in court, "He has accepted responsibility. He is cooperating."
