Esha Deol made her acting comeback last year with the film ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’ starring Ajay Devgn and helmed by Rajesh Mapuskar and this year she was seen opposite Suniel Shetty in ‘Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega’.
Yesterday, the 69th National Film Awards announced its winners list, as Esha became a producer through the thought-provoking short film titled ‘Ek Duaa’ which has now bagged a National Award under the category of Non-Feature Films. Truly a proud moment for the actress, first film as a producer and won a special appreciation for her outstanding performance.
Sharing this amazing news in gratitude, the actress went on to share some stills from the short film and poured out her emotions. She wrote, “Over the moon as my film EK DUAA has won at the 69th NATIONAL AWARDS .
As a producer & actor in this film to get this recognition in the non feature special mention award means the world to me. The subject of our film is about female foeticide ,save the girl child & for this to get recognition at the National awards is so overwhelming."
And further added, “I want to thank everyone & specially my fans for their love support prayers & duaas .

The short film ‘Ek Dua’, tells a powerful story about female feticide. Through its compelling storytelling, the film effectively raises awareness about the consequences of this social problem.
On the work front, Esha Deol will be starring again alongside Suniel Shetty for a series titled ‘Invisible Woman’ helmed by Rajesh M Selva and backed by the film arm of Saregama India – Yoodlee Films.
