The internet took by storm ever since Ranveer Singh all set to playing Bollywood’s iconic character ‘Don’ after Amitabh Bachchan in the 70s and Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Don’ and ‘Don 2’ set their individual marks.
The film series director Farhan Akhtar also recently cleared that for them also it’s hard to process the fact of SRK being not roped in and they’ve also had discussions for multiple times with him. But he is currently interested in doing commercial movies that provide to a universal section of the audience and Don 3, happens to not fit into the category of cinema he wants to do in the coming years.
Who’s Playing Opposite Ranveer?
Talking about the female lead for ‘Don 3’, Farhan shared, “Well it’s all work in progress. I don’t wanna get ahead of myself and say something that I may have to take back for any other reason, but as and when it happens, you’ll know.”
Meanwhile, a lot of speculations have been surrounded. Initially, reports about Kiara Advani being roped in for the female lead were in talks to replace Priyanka Chopra’s character Roma and she was also spotted at Excel Entertainment founder Ritesh Sidhwani’s office earlier last week.

Apart from this, other reports indicate that Kriti Sanon has been also approached for the role. Not just that, amidst confirming who’s playing it? New reports claim that the makers are also keen to cast Ranveer Singh’s wife and dynamic actress Deepika Padukone.
According to a source close to Zoom Entertainment, the producers of the movie are keen to cast Deepika since the female lead of the film has to be athletic enough to perform dangerous stunts. “They want a top-notch actress with Ranveer. Plus, the female lead in Don 3 has a lot of intricate stunts to perform. Deepika, with her athletic personality, fits the bill. The only problem is, Deepika and Ranveer together have done three films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali,” the source close to the development revealed.

The source further stated the makers might cast a fresh face for the Don universe’s leading lady.
A day after unveiling Ranveer Singh as the new Don, he took to Instagram by penning a long note. He said, “I understand what a great responsibility it is to be a part of the ‘Don’ dynasty. I hope the audience gives me a chance and showers me with love, the way they have for numerous characters over the past so many years. Thank you Farhan and Ritesh for entrusting me with this honourable mantle and believing in me. I hope I can deliver on your faith and conviction. My two supernovas, The Big B and SRK, I hope I can make you proud.”
As for the filming timeline, Don 3 is expected to release in 2025.
