One of the most expensive film in recent times, Samrat Prithviraj opened on a slow note with Rs 10.70 crore. The Akshay Kumar starrer had a slight growth on Saturday with Rs 12.60 crore followed a good Sunday in which the biopic drama minted Rs 16.10 crore.

The biopic drama dropped on its first Monday with Rs 5 crore followed by a drop with Rs 4.25 crore. As per early trade estimates, the biopic drama dropped further on Wednesday and collected somewhere Rs 3.75-4 crore, bringing the first 6 days total to around 52-52.50 crore. The budget of historical drama is estimated to be Rs 200 crore and has been released in close to 5000 screens across the globe.

The second big release of the week is Major which chronicles the life and story of the brave soldier Sandeep Unnikrshnan showed an excellent growth in Hindi version on the third day, bringing the first weekend total to Rs 4.66 crore. The biopic drama held well with Rs 85 lakhs on Monday in Hindi language. There was a good hold on Tuesday with Rs 83 lakhs. As per early trade reports, the Wednesday collection was solid with Rs 70-75 lakhs, bringing the six days to around Rs 7 crore. In the other languages, it minted Rs 2-2.25 crore, bringing the overall total to Rs 29.70-29.90 crore at the box office. The budget to be estimated at Rs 30 crore.
The action thriller, Vikram, turned out to the best opening film for Kamal Hassan as it collected Rs 29.05 crore just in Tamil Nadu. Equipped with solid reviews, Vikram held well on the second with Rs 19.05 crore. There was hardly any drop on the third day with Rs 21.50 crore, bringing the three days total to around Rs 92 crore in all languages. There was a good hold on Monday with Rs 15.40 crore followed by Rs 13.60 crore. As per early trade reports, the action drama is estimated to collected Rs 11.80 crore on Wednesday, which is superb and brought the overall collection to around Rs 135-136 crore at the box office.
The budget of Vikram is Rs 150 crore and also stars two supremely talented Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
