One of the most expensive film in recent times, Samrat Prithviraj opened on a slow note at the box office yesterday with 20 % occupancy in the morning shows. However, the collections picked up towards the evening and night shows, especially in the mass dominated areas of UP, MP and Rajasthan. The reviews of Samrat Prithiviraj has been mixed till now but if the multiplex janta shows up, the collections will definitely escalate on Saturday.
As per the trade report, the early estimates of Akshay Kumar starrer has touched Rs 10.70 crore. As per early trade estimates, the biopic drama grew by 20% and collected somewhere Rs 12.50-13.50 crore, bringing the two days total to Rs 23-24 crore. The budget of historical drama is estimated to be Rs 300 crore and has been released in close to 5000 screens across the globe.

Major Review – Every Indian Should Watch The Brave Story Of Sandeep Unnikrishnan
The second big release of the week is Major which chronicles the life and story of the brave soldier Sandeep Unnikrshnan showed an excellent growth in Hindi version on the second day. The biopic drama grew well with Rs 1.30-1.35 crore, bringing the two days to Rs 2.30-2.40 crore. In the other languages, it minited Rs 4-4.5 crore, bringing the overall total to Rs 13-14 crore. The budget to be estimated at Rs 30 crore.
The action thriller, Vikram, turned out to the best opening film for Kamal Hassan as it collected Rs 29.05 crore just in Tamil Nadu. Equipped with solid reviews, Vikram held well on the second with Rs 19.05 crore, bringing the two days total to around Rs 60 crore in all languages.
The budget of Vikram is Rs 150 crore and also stars two supremely talented Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
