Based on the true incident of the 1991 Lokhandwala Complex shootout showing the real life gun battle between gangsters (Maya Dolas) and Mumbai Police, Shootout at Lokhandwala was the hard-hitting gangster film which had some nail-biting scenes, superb dialogues and chartbursting songs. As a result, Shootout at Lokhandwala turned out to be hit at the box office, minting a good Rs 29.72 crore against a budget of Rs 18 crore.
Mujhe Kucch Kehna (2001)
Kareena Kapoor was already a rage among the youth thanks to her lovely performance in her debut film Refugee (2001). Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai hit the jackpot at the ticket windows with memorable songs by Anu Malik, entertainment factor and the youth appeal. Tusshar Kapoor forayed into the Bollywood with the romantic-comedy. The comedy drama went on to collect Rs 17.27 crore made on a budget of Rs 7 crore.
