Inspite of new releases, Gangubai Kathiawadi held well at the box office while Valimai and Bheemla Nayak were low.
Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi won the heart of the audience with solid user reviews as per Book My Show and the biopic drama collected a solid Rs 68.93 crore. There was a big competition from Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund and Hollywood biggie The Batman, but Gangubai Kathiawadi held well to its ground on the second Friday.
As per early trade report, the collection was steady on second Friday with Rs 4.20-4.30 crore, bringing the eight days total to Rs 73.13-73.20 crore. The budget of the biopic drama is estimated to be around Rs 180 crore. Gangubai Katthiawasi is based on the real-life events about the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favor. After working together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are coming together for the second film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The Ajith starrer Valimai did pretty well in its first week with Rs 92.78 crore in all languages. As per early trade report, the collections went down to Rs 1.43 crore on second Friday, bringing the 9 days total to around 94 crore. Valimai is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor.
1st Week Box Office : Gangubai Kathiawadi Inches Towards 70 Crore, Valimai and Bheemla Nayak Are Steady
Pawan Kalyan starrer Bheemla Nayak did extremely well in its first with a staggering Rs 104.30 crore collection. The action drama dropped down on the second Friday with Rs 1.20 crore, bringing the 8 days total to a solid Rs 105.5 crore. Bheemla Nayak also stars Rana Daggubati in the key role and is directed by Saagar K Chandra and produced by S Naga Vamsi.
