Following the line of K.Asif’s classic Mughal-E-Azam, writer Haider Ali collaborated with Ashutosh Gowarikar to make a prequel with Jodhaa Akbar, telling the events which impacted the life of Akbar from the age of 13 to 28. The music was composed by the legendary A.R.Rahman who enriched us with beautiful songs like “Jashn-E-Bahara”, “Khwaja” and “Azeem-O-Shahanshah”, which are memorable supported by excellent lyrics written by Javed Akhar. The experience of watching Jodha Akbar was its grand art direction by Nitin Chnadrakant Desai and amazing sequences choreographed by Ravi Dewan while the CGI was provided by Tata Elxsi. Coming off from the huge success of Dhoom 2, Hrithik Roshan transformed himself into the character of Akbar. His dialogues (in Urdu) delivery, body-language of a king and the action stunts were praised by critics and welcomed by the audience. Aishwarya Rai wowed everyone with her portrayal of queen Jodhaa. She looked gorgeous and delivered a knock-out performance.

According to the Boxofficeindia.comJodhaa Akbar was released on 15th February, 2008 at 1000 screens to Rs 3.81 crores. The film collected Rs 13.32 crores in its first weekend and went onto collect Rs 21.83 crores in its first week. Jodha Akbar ended its theatrical run with Rs 56.04 crores against a budget of Rs 40 crores and was declared “Hit” at the box office.
