“Establishing English as the official language promotes unity, establishes efficiency in government operations, and creates a pathway for civic engagement,” the document further said.

It is unclear yet, when Trump will sign the executive order on Friday.

If signed, this order will undo former President Bill Clinton’s directive requiring extensive support for non-English speakers in agencies receiving federal funds, ABC News reported recently. It'll also allow flexibility in finalizing when and how to offer services in languages other than English, according to the report.
