The star batter for Royal Challengers Bengaluru has added one more achievement to his illustrious IPL journey. In some another IPL news, Chennai Super Kings faced a significant setback on Thursday as their regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out for this season due to an elbow injury, prompting Mahendra Singh Dhoni to return to the captaincy role. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed this resolution.
"We have an uncapped player, MS Dhoni, who will take over as captain for the remainder of the IPL," Fleming said to the mediapersons ahead of the match against KKR on Friday.
Dhoni had previously led CSK from 2008 until 2023, securing 5 IPL titles. He passed the captaincy to Gaikwad before the beginning of the 2024 season.
Gaikwad sustained the injury when he was hit by a short ball from Jofra Archer on 30th of march, & since then, he has participated in two games.
