‘Jailer’ starring Rajinikanth released on August 10 is doing great on the silver screens and the madness of fans is higher to witness their superstar on-screen after two years. Amidst the release of the film, the actor is paving his presence in different cities for promotions and seeking blessings at several religious places.
Latest, Rajinikanth landed in Uttar Pradesh on August 19 for the screening of ‘Jailer’ where he met several political leaders one of them was the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath. While getting off from the car, the actor went ahead with a Namaste and touched his feet in due of respect for him being a sannyasin/yogi but this didn’t go well among the audience and the video went viral. Receiving mixed reviews, fans didn’t like the 72-year-old touching the feet of a 51-year-old and do not maintain his superstar image. While other few defended him upon that he bowed down out of respect.

Here Rajinikanth Clarifies
On Monday night, Thalaivar landed back in Chennai where the media questioned him on the controversy at the airport itself. He shared, “It is my habit to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis and take their blessings, even if they are younger than me. I have done that only.”

Jailer’s film screening was also attended by Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Rajinikanth also met Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav at his residence. Further, he visited Surya Command and interacted with all ranks and families by expressing his deep gratitude and appreciation for Indian Army’s service to the nation.
‘Jailer’ is about Muthuvel Pandian, a stern yet compassionate jailer, who sets out to stop a gang when they try to flee their leader from prison, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and it has already crossed the whopping collection of Rs 500 crore mark at the global box office. Becoming the second highest-grossing Tamil film of all time after his own movie 2.0 (2018).
