Hailing from the state of Tamil Nadu superstar Rajinikanth is widely known nationally and as well as at a global level, if people don’t know about the state they know him and what type of stardom he follows!
While his recent film ‘Jailer’ hit the screens on 10 August 2023, the actor landed in Uttar Pradesh on 19 August 2023 for the screening and while getting off from the car he went ahead to greet the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a Namaste by further touching his feet and receiving a bouquet from him.
While this video went viral on the internet it didn’t go well among the audience and mixed reactions are pouring in. Some didn’t like the 72-year-old touching the feet of a 51-year-old, losing his self-respect, and some others liked the way Rajinikanth showed the religious gesture of a man who is a Mahant of Gorakhpur Math and not looking at him as the one who is smaller in age than him.

A person reacted to a Reddit post about their interaction, “If he (Rajinikanth) was just an actor like other heroes, I wouldn't have cared much about that incident. But he is the face of south India. One of the very few celebrities that they can identify from us. Especially in Delhi, when I introduced myself as Tamilan, they said we love Rajinikanth, watch his Tamil films in Hindi etc. Many people don't even know there is a state named Tamil Nadu, but they know Rajinikanth. He should've maintained that respect. Even though people from north aren't going to find any fault in this. It's us, who are deeply disappointed.”
