On August 6, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat reached the finale of the Paris Olympics 2024. But a few hours later, it was reported that Vinesh had been disqualified from the final wrestling match for being 100 grams overweight.

On August 6, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat reached the finale of the Paris Olympics 2024 by defeating Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the 50 kg semifinals. She had created history and people all over the country were overjoyed.

But a few hours later, it was reported that Vinesh had been disqualified from the final wrestling match for being 100 grams overweight. Vinesh passed the weight criteria before the qualification and semi-final rounds. However, she turned up 150 grams overweight just before the finals and was therefore disqualified for even a silver medal.
