“Since yesterday, nearly two dozen brands that have no association with Manu have released congratulatory ads on social media featuring her images and their logos,” the report quoted Neerav Tomar, MD of IOS Sports & Entertainment, as saying. “This is not legally permitted, and we are serving legal notices to these brands.

This is free moment marketing.” Some of these brands include Bajaj Foods, LIC, FIITJEE, Oakwood International School, Apricot Bioscience, Praneet Group, Radha TMT, Kineto, Parul Ayurved Hospital, and Xtrabrick Realtors, according to the report. Manu Bhaker currently endorses only sports gear and fitness fashion company Performax Activewear.

However, about half a dozen other brands are in sponsorship negotiations with her. Although laws against such violations exist, they are often ineffective because celebrities in India rarely pursue legal action as frequently as those in Europe and the US. This is due to the lengthy litigation process in India, according to the report.
