Gujarat Sees Jaguar Fighter Jet Crash: One Pilot Rescued, Others in Search

Officials from the Indian Air Force (IAF) have given confirmation that the twin-seater Jaguar was engaged in a routine training mission when it got crashed.

A Jaguar fighter jet which belongs to the Indian Air Force has gone down in Gujarat's Jamnagar. One pilot has successfully ejected, while a search is underway for the other.

"While one pilot safely ejected before the crash, another one is still missing. The aircraft caught fire after the crash landing. Police and firefighters have rushed to the spot and started searching for the missing pilot," news agency PTI told to the Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu.

Footage from the scene in Suvarda village, which is located 12 km from Jamnagar city, captured what appeared to be a burning field alongside the cockpit & tail of the downed aircraft, which were also seen set ablaze in the separate areas.

The Jaguar is a twin-engine fighter bomber which is available in both single & twin-seat variants, & it is extensively utilized by the IAF. Previously inducted in the late 1970s, the aircraft has undergone major upgrades over the past few years.
