Delhi's legislative assembly is all set to become the beacon of sustainability. Speaker Vijendra Gupta announced that the assembly will transition to solar power within the next 100 days. This effort is part of a broader trial to promote renewable energy in the capital city.
During a recent conversation, Gupta has revealed that the assembly's electricity will be harnessed from solar panels, with any surplus energy being fed back into the grid. This project aims to reduce the assembly's carbon footprint & promote eco-friendly practices.
In a related development, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced Delhi's budget on March 25, & she also outlined plans to implement the 'PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme' in the city. This initiative aims to provide residential consumers with subsidies of up to Rs 78,000, which will enable them to adopt solar energy solutions.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta elaborated, "To enhance the impact of this initiative, my government is also proposing a new scheme called 'PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme - State Top Up,' with an allocated budget of Rs 50 crore. The goal is to equip 2.3 lakh residential rooftops with solar energy over the next three years."
