Nitin Desai Suicide: Daughter Says, “He was going to make all payments that he promised”

The well-known art director Nitin Desai was found dead at his ND Art Studio in Khalapur and his wife Neha Desai had recently filed a complaint against Edelweiss Group Chairman Rashesh Shah and four others, as his husband was repeatedly facing mental harassment from these people on the loan payments. 

Desai borrowed two loans from ECL Finance with almost Rs 181 crore in the years 2016 and 2018, and he started facing pressure in January 2020. On the same, now his daughter Mansi Desai said that Rs 86.31 crore was already paid to the company from the total amount and assured that her father never had intentions to fraud anyone and also, he was going to make all the payments as he promised.

Here's What Daughter Mansi Has To Say 

As per the PTI report, Mansi’s statement to the media read, “My father had no intention to cheat anyone and he was going to make all the payments that he promised. Due to the pandemic, there was no work and the studio was closed. And due to this, he was not able to make his regular payments.”

And added, “The loan amount was Rs 181 crore, and we already made a payment of Rs 86.31 crore. We made all the payments in Feb 2020. Then they also wanted a six-month interest which my father paid by selling his office in Powai. He had no intention to fraud anyone and he was going to make all payments that he had promised.” 

Mansi also further pleased the media portals to not spread any false information and make any defamatory statements against her deceased father. She said, “We would like to request the media to stop making defamatory statements against him and stop spreading false information. Please consult us before releasing any information.” 

Nitin Desai is a four-time National Award-winning art director known for his regal set work for outstanding Bollywood films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Lagaan, and Jodha Akbar.
