Horror Spoof Series, The Scary Movie Is Returning Creators Confirmed!!

Nearly two decades later, one of the most beloved horror-spoof film series, The Scary Movie, is returning to the big screens. The Wayans Brothers, who kicked started the series, confirmed the return through an Instagram post.

 Marlon Wayans, who co-wrote and acted in the first film and its sequel, announced the revival of the series and their return to it through his Instagram. Last week, on his social media, he teased a big announcement, and in his recent post, he wrote, “Last week i said i had a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT to make well here it is… WE’RE BACK!!!"

"After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for… a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise!" he wrote in the post and continued. "We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again." He also tagged his older brother Keenen Ivory Wayans, who directed the first two films. 

An attempt to revive the film series was made in 2013 with Scary Movie 5, but it wasn’t successful at the box office. In a recent announcement, they revealed that the film will go into production in 2025 and will get a theatrical release. No director has been announced yet, but the main core cast of Anna Faris and Regina Hall could return with the Wayans.

The film series consists of five films, out of which the first two were created by the Wayans Brothers. The film takes a comedic angle to various iconic horror film scenes.
