According to a recent report by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the Indian wedding industry is estimated to account for 6% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, the demand for decorative items, apparel, jewelry, grooming services, catering, gifts & trousseau items, and photography are expected to grow fiercely amidst the festival atmosphere. 

CAIT has predicted that this year’s wedding season is expected to not just result in growth across traditional retailers, but also in new entrants such as online players, who will be leveraging the digital trend to tap into the wedding services demand. 

To tap into the available size of the wedding market, CAIT has recommended that businesses time their promotional campaigns accordingly and 'focus on tapping the wedding season to its maximum potential by offering relevant discounts and sought-after wedding-related services”. 

CAIT also recommended that businesses leverage their digital menu offerings and platforms for information and awareness building about the different options available which will help the customers make informed decisions about their wedding services and purchases.
