Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has found himself in the spotlight once again, this time over an unusual incident involving a Navi Mumbai banker. The 46-year-old banker from Kharghar had to abruptly end his 17-day vacation to Kerala and Tamil Nadu after receiving persistent calls from the police and a legal notice tied to a defamation case involving Kamra. Reacting to the situation, Kamra has now stepped forward with an unexpected gesture offering the banker a complimentary holiday as a goodwill gesture.

“I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience that attending my show has caused to you. Please email me so that I can schedule your next vacation anywhere you’d like in India,” Kunal Kamra wrote on Twitter (now X).

The 46-year-old banker attended Kunal Kamra’s show on February 2 at Mumbai’s Habitat Studio but was later caught in an unexpected legal hassle. On March 29, he received a notice from Khar police, requesting a witness statement under Section 179 of the CRPC. The banker said he showed officers his ticket as proof of attendance, but they insisted he might have edited the video, a claim he firmly denied. Concerned that police might visit his home, he was compelled to cut short his holiday and return early.

“I had left Mumbai on March 21 for the trip and was supposed to return on April 6. But, I returned midway after repeated calls from the police while I was in Tamil Nadu,” The Times of India quoted him as saying. “The officer who called me was sceptical about my out-of-town status and threatened to visit my Kharghar residence. This prompted me to cut short my trip and return early," he added.
