Kangana Ranaut Sells Her Mumbai Bungalow Amid 'Emergency' Controversy

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency has been postponed by the Film Certification Board. Recently she revealed that she had to sell her property in Mumbai due to the delay in the release of the film.

In an interview Kangana said, “Naturally, my film was supposed to release. I put all my personal property on it. Now that it's not released, so anyway, that's what properties are for – for times of crisis.”

The property she sold is located in the Pali Hill are in Bandra, Mumbai at the rate of Rs. 32 crores. The property was a bungalow that she also used as the office for her production house, Manikarnika Films. Kangana bought this property for Rs. 20 crores in 2017. The Pali Hill bungalow is of three storeys and includes a 565 sq ft parking garage, and was sold to Kamalini Holdings.

‘Emergency’, co-produced by Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios, was originally to be released on September 6, but Central Board of Film Certification didn’t give it a green signal. It is a political drama that follows Ranaut in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film was postponed as some felt that the film portrayed the Sikhs in bad light.
