It is a courtroom drama based on the true incidents that happened in the 80sThe latest information is that 'Jai Bhim' has been certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification. It has been a decade since a Suriya film got A-rated by CBFC.

Jai Bhim also stars Prakash Raj, Manikandan of Sillu Karupatti fame, Lijomol Jose of Sivappu Manjal Pachai fame, and Rajisha Vijayan who debuted in Tamil with Mari Selvaraj's Karnan.
