In a conversation with News18 addressing the rumours of the ‘Jab We Met’ sequel, Imtiaz Ali said, “No, it’s not happening.” 

He further added, “I don’t have a story for Jab We Met 2 yet. I’ve heard of these and read these reports and articles. Nobody asked me before publishing them, so I don’t know what to say. But let’s see what happens.”

Talking about a tweet in the month of June grabbing the attention of netizens when a fan asked Shahid Kapoor “I’ve noticed that you and Imtiaz Ali have been interacting a lot recently! Is there any project in the works?” To which the actor replied, “Smart Boy” which led to several speculations of the actor-director duo reuniting after 16 years.
