Guess who nearly dodged being kidnapped by a gang targeting actors

Veteran Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor nearly dodged the kidnappers who have been targeting Bollywood actors and comedians and were recently caught by the police. The police reported that the actor was on the list of the kidnappers.

On December 11, we explained how a new pattern of kidnapping plagues the Bollywood Film Industry. These kidnappers would invite stars to events, pay them in advance and take care of their flights with accommodation just to kidnap them when they reach there. Their last victim, Stree 2 star Mushtaq Khan, was kidnapped for the same reason and reportedly was tortured for 12 hours.

However, after these kidnappers got caught, they revealed that a major Bollywood Star was on their radar. Legendary actor Shakti Kapoor encountered a similar situation. According to reports, he was offered Rs. 5 lakhs to attend an event, but the deal could not be finished because Shakti demanded a high advance price. It was this term that saved Shakti Kapoor from falling into their trap.

From what we have learned, these kidnappers were kidnapping out of desperation as they would leave the victim with some money and a flight ticket back home. They kidnapped Mushtaq Khan, Rajesh Puri and Sunil Pal in the past few months.
