Sushmita Sen is receiving all the love from the audience for her latest terrifying performance in the web show ‘Taali’, a biopic of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. Helmed by Ravi Jadhav streaming free on JioCinema.
Last year, Sushmita Sen was allegedly trolled for accepting IPL Chairman Lalit Modi’s proposal after breaking up with model Rohman Shawl, netizens started calling her ‘gold digger’. She responded to the statement by slamming such trolls and questioning their mentality towards independent women.
‘Gold digger’? Here's Why Sushmita Sen Chose To Respond
Many avoid to not entertain such mentality disordered people but the actress chose to respond because “The only reason that I put out that post was to laugh at it. I wasn’t that pained. It was just amusing because you call a woman a gold digger, and you are monetising that gold digger by writing stories on her,” she said in a recent interview with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story.
Further, she talked about how it bothers when good people stay quiet and bad ones simply thrive which is indeed true. She added saying, “We think it’s not elegant to respond. Let elegance be damned. I just need people to know I am laughing my lungs out, and it just shows me that generations have changed, but people haven’t changed morally and ethically much.”
On the work front, Sushmita Sen will be next seen in her much-acclaimed show Aarya. She is set to feature in Ram Madhvani’s Disney Plus Hotstar’s ‘Aarya 3’. The plot revolves around a widow who seeks revenge against those who killed her husband.
