Renowned Bollywood veteran, Mithun Chakraborty, recently expressed his heartfelt gratitude after being honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award for the year 2024. Having adorned the silver screen since 1976, the actor has previously been lauded with numerous accolades, including the National Award, solidifying his place as one of the industry's stalwarts.

The joyous announcement of Mithun Chakraborty's Padma Bhushan win was shared with the public through a video posted by his son, Namashi, on social media. In the video, the elated actor conveyed, "Bohot khushi, bohot anand, sab kuch mila ke ek aisi feeling hai jo main bayaan nahi kar sakta. Bohot takleefo ke baad jab itna bada sammaan milta hai toh uski feeling hi kuch aur hoti hai" (Translation: "A lot of happiness, a lot of joy, it's a feeling that I cannot express in words. After a lot of challenges, when such a big honor is bestowed upon you, the feeling is truly different").

Expressing gratitude towards his fans and well-wishers, Mithun Chakraborty dedicated the award to them and acknowledged the overwhelming love and respect he has received throughout his illustrious career. In an exclusive conversation with News18, Namashi shared his pride in his father's achievements, emphasizing that Mithun Chakraborty has always earned awards based on his merit, never seeking them.

The Padma Bhushan Awards for 2024 also recognized other distinguished personalities, including the iconic singer Usha Uthup, acclaimed music composer Pyarelal Sharma from the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo, and the late Tamil actor Vijayakanth, who received the honor posthumously.

Namashi expressed, "I think India has finally given its OG hero his due. My father, in his entire life, has never asked for an award. He always won them because of his own merit. That’s what makes us prouder."

Mithun Chakraborty's contribution to the Indian film industry continues to be celebrated, and the Padma Bhushan adds another illustrious feather to his cap.
