There were two significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer Teri Meri Kahaani and multi-starrer Gangs Of Wasseypur. Let us check how the films fared at the box office.
Teri Meri Kahaani (2012)
Teri Meri Kahaani , based on Taiwanese hit Three Times, was a rom-com drama explores the story of three generation with one common link in all the narratives– LOVE. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role, the Kunal Kohli directed film could not please the audience.
Teri Meri Kahaani collected Rs 28 crores (approx) against a budget of Rs 41 crores, making it a “Flop” at the box office.
Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012)
Probably the best gangster movie ever made in India and probably the best movie ever made by Anurag Kashyap, Gangs Of Wasseypur and its sequel, shaped the career of actors like Manoj Bajpai, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Vineet Kumar Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui who became a sensation for playing the role of “Faizal”. The passion, dedication and focus of Anurag Kashyap in Gangs Of Wasseypur series earned him recognition from Hollywood legendary director Martin Scorsese in form of a letter. The movie collected Rs 28 crore against a budget of Rs 21 crore and turned out to be profitable for its makers
