Box Office can be so unpredictable. Ayushmann Khurrana teaming up again with Anubhav Sinha whose Article 15 minted Rs 66 crores against a budget of Rs 25 crores and turned out to be “Super-Hit” at the box office. Much was expected from their next outing Anek. However, it had opened to a tepid response.

Anek has just opened to a morning occupancy range of 5-8% which is very poor considering the expectations from Ayushmann Khurrana and Anubhav Sinha collaboration. The collections did bump up in the evening and night shows but overall it managed to collect around Rs 1.75-2 crore which is below than Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui that minted Rs 3.75 crore. The budget of Anek is Rs 45 Crores including promotions.

Produced by A Benaras Mediaworks Production and T Series, the action flick will face Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun Maverick and last year box office champ, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

There was a slight increase on Friday with Rs 2 crore, bringing the 4 days total to Rs 4 crore, which is below expectation considering Tom Cruise is extremely popular in India.
