Anek marks the 2nd collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Anubhav Sinha after Article 15.
Box Office can be so unpredictable. Ayushmann Khurrana teaming up again with Anubhav Sinha whose Article 15 minted Rs 66 crores against a budget of Rs 25 crores and turned out to be “Super-Hit” at the box office. Much was expected from their next outing Anek. However, it had opened to a tepid response.
From the director of Thappad, Tum Bin, Cash and Mulk, Anek tells the story of Ayushmann who dons a solider suit in Anek who works for India's security in the North East region. His mission to bring peace to a particular region by compromise which obviously has challenges coming its way. Though trailer was impressive, the early reviews were average to decent.
As per early trade reports, Anek has just opened to a morning occupancy range of 5-8% which is very poor considering the expectations from Ayushmann Khurrana and Anubhav Sinha collaboration. Hopefully, the collections might bump up in the evening and night shows.
