Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey turned out to be a huge disappointment at the box office.
After the success of Sooryavanshi in Diwali, much was expected from Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey which released last week during Holi. Directed by Farhad Samji, Bachchhan Paandey was expected bring more heat in summer. A remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’, action drama opened on a good note with Rs 13.25 crore and making it 13th highest opening day in Akshay Kumar’s career after Boss (Rs 14.50 crore) and Rustom (Rs 14.11 crore).
Unfortunately, The Kashmir Files wave impacted the box office collection of Akshay Kumar’s film as Bachchhan Paandey dropped on Saturday with Rs 12 crore and was flat on Sunday with Rs 12 crore, bringing the 1st weekend total to Rs 37.25 crore. The collections dropped big time on Monday with Rs 3.27 crore and with further fall on Tuesday and Wednesday with Rs 2.99 crore and Rs 2.70 crore. As per early trade report, the action drama minted around Rs 2 crore, bringing the overall total of just Rs 48.66 crore which is way below expectations, considering the film features Akshay Kumar.
Bachchhan Paandey has been released in 3000 screens and budget is Rs 165 crore ( Production Cost: 155 Crores and Prints and Advertising Cost: 10 Crores). Bachchhan Paandey is produced by Sajid Nadiawala under the banner of Nadiawala Grandson Entertainment and distributed by AA Films and Zee Studio. The action drama will be released on 18th March 2022 during the festival of Holi.
