The Kashmir Files kept the momentum strong on its second Tuesday at the box office
Vivek Agnihotri proved that content is the king as his latest riveting truth on Kashmir with The Kashmir Files had already won the hearts audience from the first day itself. Surprisingly, the blunt film opened decently in the morning shows but thanks to the mind blowing (as per Book My Show), collected a solid Rs 97.30 crore in first week
Most of the films falls on second Friday but The Kashmir Files was exceptional despite the release of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey as the collection grew with eye-popping Rs 19.15 crore while Saturday was even better with Rs 24.80 crore followed by staggering Rs 26.20 crore on Sunday. There was a drop on Monday with Rs 12.40 crore but as per trade report, the political drama held well on 2nd Tuesday with somewhere between Rs 10-10.50 crore, bringing a jaw-dropping 12 total to around Rs 190 crore from 4000 screens. The political drama has been made on an overall budget of Rs 14 crore which was crossed in the first weekend itself.
This film is directed and produced by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri in association with Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and Zee Studio. It tells the true story Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their own land in Kashmir in 1990. The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Darshan Kumar, Prakash Belawadi, Mrinal Kulkarni, and Chinmay Mandlekar in key roles.
