Bachchhan Paandey got hit by the The Kashmir Files wave in its first weekend.
After the success of Sooryavanshi in Diwali, Akshay Kumar is back with yet masala entertainment in Holi. Directed by Farhad Samji, Bachchhan Paandey was expected bring more heat in summer. A remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Jigarthanda’, the movie title derives from a character of the same name, played by Akshay Kumar, in the 2008 film. With a superstar face value of Akshay Kumar, the action drama boasted off some incredible star cast right from Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi. The 3 minutes 41 seconds trailer was a kick-ass with some quirky and witty dialogues led the action drama opened on a good note with 25-30% occupancy in the morning shows.
The reviews have been good till now as per user rating in Book My Show. which led action drama collect around Rs 13.25 crore and making it 13th highest opening day in Akshay Kumar’s career after Boss (Rs 14.50 crore) and Rustom (Rs 14.11 crore). Unfortunately, The Kashmir Files wave is so strong that it has impacted the box office collection of Akshay Kumar’s film as Bachchhan Paandey dropped on Saturday with Rs 12 crore and showed limited growth on Sunday with Rs 13 crore, bringing the 1st weekend total to Rs 38.25-38.50 crore. Bachchhan Paandey has been released in 3000 screens and budget is Rs 165 crore ( Production Cost: 155 Crores and Prints and Advertising Cost: 10 Crores)
Bachchhan Paandey is produced by Sajid Nadiawala under the banner of Nadiawala Grandson Entertainment and distributed by AA Films and Zee Studio. The action drama will be released on 18th March 2022 during the festival of Holi.
