Based on the life of Vijay Barse,  Jhund stars Amitabh Bachchan in the title and film is made by the director of Marathi smash hit fiilm Sairat – Nagraj Manjule. While Gangubai Kathiawadi revived the box office last week, Jhund opened on a low note and the clash with the Hollywood biggie - The Batman, deteriorated its performance Rs 1.50 crore on its first day. There was a good growth on Saturday with Rs 2.1 crore followed by Rs 2.9 crore on Sunday. The football drama dropped on first Monday with Rs 1.03 crore.

As per early trade estimates, Jhund went slightly on Tuesday and collected somewhere between Rs 1.15-1.20 crore, bringing the five days total to Rs 8.70 crore which is still not up to the mark, considering the budget of Jhund is Rs 30 (Production Budget: 22 Crores, Prints & Advertising Costs: 8 Crores).

On the other hand, the much anticipated The Batman opened to an excellent response on its first day in the Indian domestic market. Thanks to the solid second trailer which focuses on the crime drama, action stunts, the Cat Woman and The Riddler, solid action stunts, more emotions and more characters which invoked the curiosity to watch the film. The Batman was able to generate Rs 6.73 crore (including the Thursday preview) on the first day which was simply superb. The earning was up on Saturday with Rs 7.73 crore followed by slight growth on Sunday with Rs 7.74 crore. The super hero drama dropped big time on Monday with Rs 2.17 crore.

2nd Weekend Box Office – Gangubai Kathiawadi Is Unstoppable, Valimai Crosses 100 Crore, Bheemla Nayak Superb

As per trade estimates, the Robert Pattinson starrer dropped slightly to somewhere between Rs 2-2.10 crore, summing the five  days total to around Rs 26.35 crore. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay along with Peter Craig and produced by DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures
