Based on the supernatural fairy tale, Pari was a daring act directed by Prosit Roy. Starring Anushka Sharma and Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead roles, Pari won good reviews but could do well at the box office owing to its dark theme, collecting Rs 22.80 crore against a budget of Rs 30 crore.
Paan Singh Tomar (2012)

Brilliantly played by Irrfan Khan, who even won the National Award for Best Actor, Paan Singh Tomar was the surprise hit of 2012 minting Rs 14.61 crore against a budget of Rs 7 crore.
Nishabhd (2007)
Mithya Review – The Cat And Mouse Game Thriller Makes It A Good Watch
Based on the controversial novel, Lolita, Nishabd was an experimental cinema in which Vijay Anand (Amitabh Bachchan) falls for his daughter’s best friend, Jia (Jiah Khan). Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Nishabd won mixed reviews but was praised for its performances. The erotic thriller could do well at the box office, collecting Rs 7.53 crore against a budget of Rs 8.50 crore.
