After a long wait, the makers of the much anticipated film 83 have released the release date of the iconic cricket match of India. The incredible true story of the underdogs who pulled off the unthinkable, the cricket drama is all set to hit the TV screen on Netflix on March 20, 2022 (Tentative). Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film revolves around India’s historic 1983 World Cup win. Ranveer Singh will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev. Also starring are Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi. The good news was that 83 did not face any competition due to Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey and RRR getting postponed which gave a solid boost on second weekend but crashed on the weekdays minting Rs 25.13 crore in the second week.

The performance in the third week was low but still managed to cross 100 crore at the box office, bringing 101,83 crore by the end of third week. Due to Makar Sankranti festival on Friday in few parts of India, 83 was fine in the fourth week, finally making it to a total of around Rs 104 crore. The budget of 83 is Rs 200 crore and will turn out to be the biggest loser in the history of Bollywood.
