The Fame Game tells the story of the most popular actress India, Anamika Anand (played by Madhuri Dixit) who is living two lives - one of a superstar and one of a dedicated wife, mother, friend, mentor and a loner, who is forced to make choices. The main event triggers when the India's most loved star disappears all of sudden and neither her family nor her friends have any clue about it. What follows next is the hunt, investigation and interrogations which includes dark secrets and fantasies of the superstar and her beloved people.

1st Day Box Office Prediction : Gangubai Kathiawadi , Valimai and Bheemla Nayak To Create Storm

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar (Shaitaan, Taish) , Sri Rao (writer of Baar Baar Dekho) and Karishma Kohli (Mentalhood), The Fame Game introduces us to the glamourous and beautiful world of cinema right from flashing of camera, shooting locations, grand production sets and tantrums of stars. Along with it, the mystery-thriller also shows the gorgeous face of Madhuri Dixit, who charms us in each and every scene (no doubt she has been an immensely popular actor for past 30 years). The Fame Game, kind of, pays tribute to the shining star in every possible way by breaking into her song, Chane Ke Khet Mein, or divulging into her scene from her previous films. This will definitely be a treat to her fans.

Gangubai Kathiawadi Review Out – This Is How Celebs Are Reacting To Alia Bhatt And Ajay Devgn Starrer

Unfortunately, the web series starts of well but loses the focus later with wafer-thin script which could have been sharper and convincing in this eight episode glamour drama. The editing should have been tighter with few episodes trimmed down to make it a better watch. Even though the cracks start appearing in the plot, the performances of the actors will keep you hooked coupled with grandeur sets, astounding back ground score and above all - Madhuri Dixit

8 Years Of Highway – Check Out The Total Collections Of Alia Bhatt And Randeep Hooda Starrer

Coming to the performances, The Fame Game is incomplete without the diva - Madhuri Dixit, who has always shown that she can nail any character with aplomb and with Anamika Anand, there is no different story to tell. She brings the aura and charm every time she appears on screen and this is the best part of watching The Fame Game. You never get bored of her smile, her eyes expression and above all the way the talent she exudes even in dance moves, is completely unique. Manav Kaul and Sanjay Kapoor were fine but it is Rajshri Deshpande who walks away with accolades thanks to sharp and edgy act as an investigating officer. The three youngers - Muskkan Jaferi, Lakshvir Singh Saran and Gagan Arora do justice to their character.

So, overall, The Fame Game had potential to be a crispy and edgy whodunnit thriller but was convincing only in parts with few moments. Thank god, it had Madhuri Dixit who is the show-stealer. Good 3/5

The Fame Game is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, Sri Rao and is currently streaming on Netflix.
