Overseas Box Office - Top 5 Bollywood Films Of 2021

Box Office has been a disappointing in 2021 for Bollywood with cinema halls shut down in almost half of the year.

While the sports drama 83 and Sooryavanshi brought some relief in 2021, other biggies could not do much at the overseas box office.

Veteran Actor Ramesh Deo Passes Away At 93

Much was expected from Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Pankaj Tripathi starrer 83 due to humongous star cast, mega budget and solid trailer. However, the cricket biopic drama failed at the domestic box office with just over Rs 100 crore against a budget of Rs 200 crore. However, the overseas market shined on the Kabir Khan directed film as 83 went on to collect around $8.5 million.

Sooryavanshi - 5th November 

Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the box office and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year as the cop drama went on to collect Rs 196 crore against the budget of Rs 165 crore at the domestic box office. 

Also starring Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, Sooryavanshi did pretty well at the overseas market with $8.35 million.

Bell Bottom - 19th August

Though the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom managed to collect Rs 33.70 crore at the domestic market, it did fairly okay at the overseas market with $1.92 million. The budget of Bell Bottom is around Rs 60 crore (Production Cost - Rs 50 , Promotion - Rs 10 crore)

Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer Antim brought some cheers to the theaters as film showed a healthy collection of around Rs 40 crore due to positive word of mouth at the domestic box office. However, the action drama failed to click at the overseas box office with just $ 1.8 million The budget of Antim was Rs 35 crore.

Best Of Indian Cinema 2021 : Top Films Which Created Huge Impact With Quality Content

Ayushmann Khurrana is back with yet another unconventional film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui which has been able to achieved good reviews which in turn is keeping the movie afloat in these challenging times. Unfortunately, the social drama could end with collection close to Rs 22.40 crore against the budget of Rs 40 crore. 

At the overseas market as well, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui could not do much at the box office, minting just $1.06 million.
