Raees-2017
Raees talks about the story of a bootlegger which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani Actress Mahira Khan. To add spice to this, Sunny Leone performed the item number “Laila” in the film. The action entertainer opened to a solid response all over India. Raees, which was directed by Rahul Dholakia, had an extraordinary start in Gujarat (due to local flavor) and West Bengal (due to Shah Rukh Khan’s effect). In few places, the collections in single screens were better than Dangal and Sultan.. Inspite of clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, Raaes collected Rs 138 (approx) at the domestic box office.
Kaabil-2017
Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil had surely won the hearts of the audience. Though Kaabil opened to average response, it picked up later thanks to its glowing reviews. Also starring Yami Gautam in key role, Kaabil collected a solid Rs 104.34 crores at the end of its run against a budget of Rs 89 crore.
Though Kaabil has done better in the later part of the release, the winner of this box office clash certainly is Raees.
Race 2-2013
The respect and the appreciation which Race got when it was released in 2008, Race 2 destroyed it. With bigger budget and even bigger star cast, Race 2 was a total disappointment. However, it was able to touch 100 crore (Rs 101.45 crore) against a budget of Rs 94 crore.
