The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi held well on its first Wednesday at the box office. Let us check how much Mission Mangal collected on its sixth day at the ticket window
Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year as the cop drama went on to become the 2nd highest opening film with Rs 26.29 crore for Akshay Kumar after Mission Mangal. On the second day, the cop action drama held well on to its position and dropped by only 10% which is excellent considering Friday was Diwali, on Saturday, the Karan Johar produced film earned Rs 23.85 crore. The earnings shot up on Sunday and minted Rs 26.94 crore while Monday and Tuesday was outstanding with a small drop and collections of Rs 14.51 crore and Rs 11.22 crore respectively. As per early estimates, Sooryavanshi held well again on its first Wednesday and collected Rs 9.55 crore, bringing the first 6 days collections to Rs 112.36 crore. With this collection, Sooryavanshi has now become the 13th highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar beating the lifetime collections of Housefull 3 (Rs 109.10 crore) and Gold (Rs 105 crore)
On the other hand, the space drama Mission Mangal fell slightly on its the sixth day collecting a staggering Rs 7.92 crore, bringing the six days collections to Rs 114.39 crore. The budget of Mission Mangal was Rs 40 crore.
Sooryavanshi has been released in 3519 screens across India while the budget is estimated to be around Rs 165 crore (Production Cost: 150 Crore & Prints and Advertising cost: 15 Crores). Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, Cape Of Good Films. Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
