The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi became the first Bollywood film of 2021 to join the 100 crore club as it held well on its first Tuesday at the box office
Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year. The cop drama went on to become the 2nd highest opening film with Rs 26.29 crore for Akshay Kumar after Mission Mangal which opened to Rs 29.16 crore in 2019 during the Independence Day week despite clashing with John Abraham’s Batla House.

On the second day, the cop action drama held well on to its position and dropped by only 10% which is excellent considering Friday was Diwali, on Saturday, the Karan Johar produced film earned Rs 23.85 crore. The earnings shot up on Sunday and minted Rs 26.94 crore while Monday was outstanding with a small drop and collections of Rs 14.51 crore. As per early estimates, Sooryavanshi held well again on its first Tuesday and collected somewhere between Rs 11-12 crore, bringing the first 5 days collections to Rs 102-103 crore.
Sooryavanshi has been released in 3519 screens across India while the budget is estimated to be around Rs 165 crore (Production Cost: 150 Crore & Prints and Advertising cost: 15 Crores)
Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, Cape Of Good Films. Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
