Black Widow Review – Golden Opportunity Gone Wasted
Thanks to the adrenaline-pumping trailer which has lots of high-octane action scenes, Justin Lin and F9 opened on Thursday with Rs 1.90 crore including all English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada versions, which is still a decent amount considering that movie is available online in HD prints. There was a slight drop on Friday as the action faced Marvel's Shang Chi and collected Rs 1.60 crore. On the other hand, Marvel's next big adventure starring Asian actors, has opened very well from 900 screens which was a big surprise, considering it does not feature well-known stars plus the super-hero character is not popular unlike other Marvel's character. The advance booking for Shang Chi was better than other Hollywood COVID-19 releases like Tenet, Wonder Woman 1984, Godzilla Vs Kong and even better than the recent released Bollywood flick - the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom.
With glowing reviews, Shang Chi opened on a good note with Rs 2.97 crore. The collection remained stable with Rs 3.33 crore on Saturday. There was a good jump on Sunday with Rs 4.31 crore. The super-hero drama held very well with Rs 1.53 crore on Monday, Rs 1.35 crore on Tuesday and Rs 1.30 crore on Wednesday. As per early estimates, Thursday was fine with Rs 1.10 crore, bringing the first week collections to somewhere between Rs 15.70-15.90 crore.
