Swades

The story of NRI coming back to his roots and doing something worthwhile was equally absorbing with amazing cinematography capturing the beautiful locales of Indian villages. Swades was directed, scripted and story told by Ashutosh Gowarikar (who made Lagaan).  There is a scene where the villagers boast off how high our Indian tradition and culture as compared to the other countries in the world. Shah Rukh Khan expresses his thoughts that rather than living with head-high on the valuable Indian tradition, we should also see how can we make our country better and progressive.  His character, Mohan Bhargav, goes one step ahead and create electricity in the conservative village.

Rajkumar Santoshi’s The Legend Of Bhagat Singh, the biopic drama turned out to be best film among three as it received noteworthy praise for commendable direction by Rajkumar Santoshi, perfect background score and songs composed by A.R.Rahman, beautiful art direction by Nitin Chandrakant Desai , eye-catching cinematography by K.V.Anand and smart editing by V.N.Mayekar. The dialogues by Ranjit Kapoot, Piyush Mishra, Anjum Rajabali and Rajkumar Santoshi himself were solid and punching.  Songs like “Des Mere” and “Sarforishi Ki Tamanna” were beautifully written by Sameer. The movie ends with a message that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru who were the freedom fighter who were calm yet rebellious, subtle yet fierce, passionate and patriotic and made a sacrifice for the freedom of the country. Giving the circumstances we are living right now, have we betrayed their sacrifice ? Probably, we should be asking this question to ourselves.
