A remake of Hollywood film, Warrior, Brothers had Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra taking on each other in the MMA fight for survival. The Karan Molhtra directed could collect Rs 82.49 crore at the box office against a budget of Rs 105 crore.
Kaminey was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj who gave us memorable films like Omkara, The Blue Umbrella and Makdee. The highlight of Kaminey was its foot-tapping songs like “Dhan Te Nan”, “Raat Ki Dhai Baje” and “Pehli Mohabbat Ki” composed by Vishal Bhardwaj himself and lyrics written by Gulzar. Leveraged by powerful performances by Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra with solid screenplay by Abhishek Chaubey, Vishal Bharwaj and Sabrina Dhawan. Kaminey turned out to be a “Hit” at the box office, collecting Rs 41.30 crore against a budget of Rs 33 crore.
Life Partner (2009)
Directed by Rumi Jaffrey, Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D Souza and Prachi Desai starrer Life Partner turned out to be surprising comic flick. The movie boasted off some of the best comic scenes that will bring down the house. Life Partner turned out to be a decent performer owing to its clash with Kaminey, collecting Rs 20.48 crore against a budget of Rs 19 crore.
