With Piku, Hindi Medium, Qarib Qarib Singlle, Blackmail, Karwaan and Angrezi Medium, Irrfan Khan continued to show that he could play any role with his perfect expression of taking situation-as-it-comes and bringing out humor in it. The brilliant actor, who explored his career with serious roles like Maqbool, Haasil, Paan Singh Tomar or Talwar gave comedy films a new meaning with his quirky and witty dialogues. With Karwaan, Irrfan Khan steals the show with his perfect expression of taking situation-as-it-comes and bringing out humor in it. The other actor who did well was Dulquer Salman and Mithila Palkar. Both was really good in his comic timings. Overall, Blackmail is one hell of a ride filled with twist and turns that will surely be enjoyed.

Karwaan made about Rs 20.32 crore at the domestic box office, carrying a shoe string budget of Rs 20 crore and turned out to be decent fare.

Mimi Review – Kriti Sanon Gives Career’s Best Performance In This Beautiful Tale Of Motherhood

Directed by Anubhav Sinha who had given some powerful dramas including Thappad and Article 15, Mulk was another offbeat court-room drama that was appreciated for its stunning performances.  The Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu starrer did well at the box office inspite of featuring an off-beat theme and clashing with two other films - Karwaan and Fanney Khan.

Mulk went on to collect Rs 20.88 crore against a budget of Rs 18 crore.  The film is written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, produced by Deepak Mukut and Anubhav Sinha.
