A Thursday Review – Gripping Hostage Drama With An Important Message
Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi won the heart of the audience with solid user reviews as per Book My Show and the biopic drama collected a solid Rs 68.93 crore. There was a big competition from Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund and Hollywood biggie The Batman, but Gangubai Kathiawadi held well to its ground on the second weekend with Friday being around Rs 5.01 crore and superb earnings on Saturday with Rs 8.2 crore.
1st Week Box Office – Jhund Is Disappointing, The Batman Is Good
As per early trade report, the collection touched double digit on second Sunday with Rs 10.20-10.30 crore, bringing the 10 days total to around Rs 93 crore. The budget of the biopic drama is estimated to be around Rs 180 crore. Gangubai Katthiawasi is based on the real-life events about the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favor. After working together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are coming together for the second film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The Ajith starrer Valimai did pretty well in its first week with Rs 92.78 crore in all languages. Though the action drama fell on 2nd Friday with Rs 1.44 crore, Saturday was good with Rs 3.39 crore. As per early trade report, the collections went up to Rs 4.53 crore on second Sunday, bringing the 11 days total to around 102 crore. Valimai is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor.

Pawan Kalyan starrer Bheemla Nayak did extremely well in its first with a staggering Rs 104.30 crore collection. The action drama dropped down on the second Friday with Rs 1.30 crore while Saturday was up with Rs 1.98 crore. Based on the trade report, Bheemla Nayak minted somewhere between Rs 2.30-2.35 crore on Sunday, bringing the 11 days total to a solid Rs 110 crore. Bheemla Nayak also stars Rana Daggubati in the key role and is directed by Saagar K Chandra and produced by S Naga Vamsi.
