Shocking! 70 Year Old Man Marries 13 Yr Old Girl In Pakistan, Arrested

Pedophiliia is a real concern nowadays as a recent news coming from Pakistan is spreading shockwaves in the world. In Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, cops have arrested a 70-year-old man for marrying a 13-year-old girl, an act deemed illegal and deeply concerning, reported ARY News.

According to reports, the minor girl’s father married her to the elderly man. Upon receiving this information, law enforcement promptly interfered and Police have also arrested the girl's father for assenting to the underage marriage. Both suspects are in custody, and further investigations are underway.

The 70-year-old man, identified as Hanifa, had allegedly contracted marriage with 13-year-old a few days ago, after the consent of her parents. As soon as word about the alleged marriage spread, the police took swift action and stopped the marriage.  SP Ghulam said that the girl's father and the groom have been arrested, and a case has been lodged against them under the Child Protection Act and Child Marriage Act.

Meanwhile, at a local hospital, the minor bride underwent a medical examination. Under the country’s current legislation, the outdated Marriage Restraint Act of 1929 defines the minimum marriage age as 16 for girls and 18 for boys.
